Christian Community Action is a faith-based not-for-profit ecumenical social services agency in New Haven, Connecticut. Its mission is to provide emergency shelter and transitional housing, food, advocacy and leadership education and training and other support to those who are poor, in particular families that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. CCA seeks to encourage the se families and individuals in their efforts to attain economic self sufficiency and financial independence and to work with them to change systems that perpetuate unemployment / underemployment, homelessness, hunger, poverty and injustice and to promote community building and social change.

CCA’s main office is located at 168 Davenport Avenue. It is an old brick storefront with a colorfully painted mural around the front of the building, located at the corner of Asylum Street and Davenport Avenue; across the street from the Jewish Home for the Aged. Parking is available in the parking lot between Resurrection Lutheran Church and CCA’s shelter at 166 Davenport Avenue (a three-family house next door to the office).
Getting to CCA’s main offices from I-95
- To get to CCA from I-95 North and South, take Exit 47, "Downtown New Haven / Route 34 connector."
- Get off the connector at the College Street exit (second exit on the right)
- Take a left onto College Street and follow as it merges with Congress Avenue to the intersection with Howard Avenue (third light after you turn left onto College Street). turn right onto Howard and go to the second light, which is Davenport Avenue
- At second traffic light (or at 1st intersection) turn left onto Davenport and go two and one half blocks; Park in the parking lot on the left, just after Resurrection Lutheran Church.
- Walk to Davenport Avenue from the parking lot, turn left and walk to the corner of Davenport Avenue and Asylum Street
- The front door to the office opens onto the intersection of Davenport Avenue and Asylum Street
Getting To CCA’s main offices from I-91
To get to CCA from I-91, take Exit 1. This will put you on the Route 34 connector (see above). Get off at College Street exit and follow directions above.

CCA’s Sylvan Avenue office is one of the sites of the Hillside Family Shelter. This site offers 10 emergency housing apartments, as well as workshops and an after school program for tenant children. Street parking is available in front of the building or on the side street (Stevens Street)
To CCA-Sylvan from I-95
- To get to CCA from I-95 North and South, take Exit 47, the exit for "Downtown New Haven", (the "34" connector)
- Get off the connector at Exit 3 and proceed to the traffic light where you turn left onto Park Street.
- Pass one traffic light, then bear left to the next light then cross over to turn right onto Sylvan Avenue.
- After passing two traffic lights on Sylvan Avenue, the facility is one block ahead on the left, at the corner or Sylvan Avenue and Stevens Street.
To CCA Sylvan from I-91
- Take Exit 1 (Downtown New Haven / Route 34 connector).
- Get off the connector at Exit 3 and follow directions above.

- To get to CCA from I-91 North or South (directions are the same from either directions), take Exit 6 (Willow Street/Blatchley Avenue). Turn right onto Willow Street.
- Proceed to 2nd traffic light and turn right onto Mitchell Drive
- Follow road as it curves past Wilbur Cross High School (on the right) to the end of the street (passing one traffic light and one stop sign)
- Turn right onto Whitney Avenue
- Take the 1st left turn onto Highland Street
- Proceed to the end of this street (past one stop sign, one traffic light and two additional stop signs).
- Turn left onto Winchester Avenue, 660 Winchester is the big brick building on the right.
- Turn right into parking lot

- To get to CCA from I-91 North or South (directions are the same from either directions), take Exit 6 (Willow Street/Blatchley Avenue). Turn right onto Willow Street.
